Development of the quality of corrosion protection

Abstract

The design process for corrosion protection painting was insufficient, and there was not enough knowledge available on the subject which resulted in inefficiencies and occasional quality issues. Research was done to establish comprehensive background on protective paint systems, paint work execution and quality procedures. The results of the research were utilized in creating a custom tailored protective paint system process for elevator industry from the beginning to the end. New work planning guide, protective paint system selection process and the paint work specification template were created for the purpose. The result is a comprehensive base for the creation of more compressed official engineering and contractor instructions for protective paint systems, and in other words, base for optimal quality.
