Tiivistelmä
The importance of autonomous navigation has gained attention of the research and industrial community, mainly for brining self-driving vehicles to the large audience. However, this importance is not new within the industrial sector, and special for those dedicate to indoor logistics of heavy and large items. As a consequence, the industrial sector is benefiting from the technologies and methods developed for the general audience and bring this area to a new level of development.
This work firstly presents a survey of the most relevant indoor positioning technologies and methods from the heavy-duty industrial applications viewpoint. Finally, a few commercial autonomous heavy-duty vehicles and their positioning methods are presented.
