Tiivistelmä
Isien terveyden edistämisessä tarvitaan moniulotteisia näkökulmia, koska miehillä on toiminnallinen lähestymistapa terveyttä ylläpitäviin tekijöihin. Isien terveyden edistämisessä toivo on yksi merkittävä tekijä.
Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli kuvata alle kouluikäisten terveiden lasten isien toivoa, sitä vahvistavia ja heikentäviä tekijöitä isien oman kokemuksen näkökulmasta. Tavoitteena oli lisätä ymmärrystä isien toivosta voidaksemme tukea isiä henkilökohtaisen terveyden edistämisessä ja hoitotyössä. Tutkimus toteutettiin haastattelemalla avoimella yksilöhaastattelulla 10 isää. Aineisto analysoitiin aineistolähtöisellä sisällönanalyysillä.
Tulosten mukaan terveiden lasten isien toivo on myönteisen isyyden toivoa, joka tarkoittaa lapsen saamisen, hyvänä isänä olemisen ja lapsissa jatkuvan tulevaisuuden toivoa sekä isän hyviä tunteita. Isien toivo on havaittavaa toivoa, joka koostuu lapsiin, parisuhteeseen ja perheen arkielämään liittyvistä tekijöistä. Isien toivo on ajatuksellista toivoa, joka on uskonnollisen ja paremman tulevaisuuden toivoa sekä menetyksen kautta tulevaa uutta toivoa. Isien toivoa vahvistavat isän myönteiset ominaisuudet, perheen yhteisöllisyys, elämän tasapainoisuus ja hyvät toimeentulon mahdollisuudet. Isien toivoa heikentävät isän kielteiset ominaisuudet, perheen sisäiset vaikeudet, elämän muutokset ja toimeentulon epävarmuus.
Tutkimustulosten perusteella isien toivo, sitä vahvistavat ja heikentävät tekijät on huomioitava isille ja perheille suunnatuissa terveyspalveluissa, koska toivo on isän ja perheen elämään keskeisesti vaikuttava voimavara. Isien toivoa vahvistavat tekijät antavat koko perheelle voimavaroja ja kannattelevat heitä eteenpäin elämässä. Isien toivoa heikentävät tekijät, erityisesti huolten käsittely on huomioitava koko perheen terveyden ja hyvinvoinnin tarkastelussa. Saatuja tuloksia voidaan hyödyntää ennalta ehkäisevässä terveydenhuollossa ja kolmannen sektorin palveluissa.
ABSTRACT
The father’s promotion of his health needs diverse perspective because men approach the maintaining their health functionally. Hope is a significant factor in the promotion of father’s health.
The purpose of this research was to illustrate the father’s, who have healthy under school aged children, hope and it’s strengthening and weakening factors from the perspective of the father’s own experiences. The goal was to increase the understanding of the father’s hope in order to support the fathers in the promotion of their personal health and nursing. This research was conducted by interviewing 10 fathers separately. Inductive content analysis was used to analyze the data.
According to the results the hope of the healthy children’s fathers is the hope of a positive fatherhood which includes the birth of a baby, being a good father, the future that continues with the children and the good feelings of the father. The father’s hope is illustrative hope which consists of the factors including children, relationship and the everyday life of a family. The father’s hope is conceptual meaning that it’s a hope of a religious and better future but also the new hope rising from a loss. Father’s positive qualities, connections between the family members, balance in life and good possibilities of income strengthen the father’s hope. While the negative qualities of the father, difficulties inside the family, changes in life and the insecurity of income weakens the hope of the father.
According to the results the hope of the fathers, it’s strengthening and weakening factors must take into consideration in the health services targeted for families because hope influences the father’s and the family’s life strongly. The factors that strengthen father’s hope give resources for the entire family and support them to move forward in life. The weakening factors of father’s hope particularly handling the concerns must be noticed in the inspection of the whole family’s health and wellbeing. These results can be used in preventive healthcare and third sector services.
Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli kuvata alle kouluikäisten terveiden lasten isien toivoa, sitä vahvistavia ja heikentäviä tekijöitä isien oman kokemuksen näkökulmasta. Tavoitteena oli lisätä ymmärrystä isien toivosta voidaksemme tukea isiä henkilökohtaisen terveyden edistämisessä ja hoitotyössä. Isien toivo on ajatuksellista toivoa, joka on uskonnollisen ja paremman tulevaisuuden toivoa sekä menetyksen kautta tulevaa uutta toivoa. Isien toivoa vahvistavat isän myönteiset ominaisuudet, perheen yhteisöllisyys, elämän tasapainoisuus ja hyvät toimeentulon mahdollisuudet. Isien toivoa heikentävät isän kielteiset ominaisuudet, perheen sisäiset vaikeudet, elämän muutokset ja toimeentulon epävarmuus.

Isien toivoa heikentävät tekijät, erityisesti huolten käsittely on huomioitava koko perheen terveyden ja hyvinvoinnin tarkastelussa.
