Tiivistelmä
Chapter 11 by Usva Friman starts by pointing out how ‘gamer’ is not a value-neutral concept for describing all game players, but rather a particular ideological construction, typically excluding women and many marginalised groups. There is a need for intersectional perspectives to understand better how opportunities for participation, agency, and identity construction in game cultures are still tied to unequal and biased structures of power.
