Tiivistelmä
The abstracts in this book showcase a broad spectrum of contemporary tribology research, spanning fundamental and applied studies of friction, wear, lubrication, and surface interactions from nanoscale phenomena to large engineering systems. A strong focus is placed on advanced materials and surface engineering, including coatings, composites, additive manufacturing, and microstructural design to enhance durability and performance. The programme also highlights lubrication science, covering lubricant additives, thin films, and environmentally friendly solutions, alongside investigations into demanding environments such as hydrogen and electrified systems. Numerous contributions address real-world applications in sectors such as automotive, energy, manufacturing, biomedical devices, and rail systems, often linking laboratory findings to practical performance. In addition, sustainability is a key theme, with research on emissions reduction, energy efficiency, and green materials. Complementing these topics are advances in modelling, simulation, and experimental methods, reflecting the interdisciplinary and rapidly evolving nature of tribology.
