Advancements in the field of machine learning have borne a versatile tool that has made its way to the public eye. Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) tools are the next new thing after the cloud. GenAI is a versatile tool that can be used to generate and analyse copious amounts of data and in the recent years its viability as a tool has grown. One field which has seen a growth in use of AI is the field of software development. AI has become a tool for software development and as a tool for learning how to code.
Due to its recent popularity, the field of study has gained an acceleration in its growth as interest in the technology rises. This brings into question of how malicious misuse from bad actors can be prevented.
This study’s aim is to look at how the current AI tools work, the viability and possibility of malicious misuse, and the current state of AI generated malware.
