Tiivistelmä
Accessibility affects people's everyday lives; however, we still lack education about accessibility and knowledge of how to produce accessible online education. This article introduces an accessibility-focused study module and students' experiences of the module. The research question is addressed with a survey study: What do the students think of the implementation and contents of accessibility-related online courses? The results suggest that students are satisfied with both the implementation and the contents of the online courses. However, all the respondents had completed the course, therefore we lack the data from students for whom the course implementation was not optimal enough to ensure they would have completed it. Future studies should focus on the people for whom online courses are not the optimal way to learn and delve into possible solutions for how we could truly make online education accessible for all students. Based on our experiences we suggest guidelines for making accessible online courses.
