Tiivistelmä
The burgeoning population has escalated the global energy demand, intensifying the reliance on fossils. This has led to environmental pollution, deteriorating the ecosystem and human health. Despite being the primary energy caters, fly ash (FA) from thermal power plants has been debated over the years. Due to its versatility and properties, FA has become a popular raw material for cement, housing, and infrastructure industries. Benefiting from its physicochemical attributes, FA has gained attention among the potential catalytic and advanced materials. However, the variability of its quality needs to be considered to transition to a renewable alternative to harness its full potential. This chapter briefly covers the progress and contribution of FA and related products towards environmental pollution abatement for human and ecosystem health.
