Tiivistelmä
The adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) is a critical component of sustainable urban mobility and climate change mitigation efforts. As cities try to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and transition toward cleaner transportation options, understanding the factors influencing EV adoption be comes increasingly important. This study explores the key drivers and barriers affecting the adop tion of EVs in Tampere, Finland, using a survey-based research method administered through Microsoft Forms. The research targets current car owners and potential car buyers, collecting data on perceptions, financial considerations, infrastructure availability, and policy aware ness. The results indicate that financial concerns, particularly the high purchase cost, are the most significant barrier to EV adoption. Environmental motivations and technological improvements serve as strong incentives. The study concludes that policy efforts in Tampere should focus on targeted financial support, improved infrastructure, and enhanced public awareness to encourage a more inclusive and accelerated transition to electric mobility
