Tiivistelmä
The cornerstones of learning to be a doctor are scientific knowledge and the ability to meet and understand patients in their individual life situations and with their personal values. To achieve this numerous medical schools around the world have incorporated arts and humanities into medical education in addition to science and clinical courses. These studies can be carried out either as separate courses or incorporated in the teaching modules to broaden and deepen the scientific perspective. The goals of Finnish medical education are currently being harmonized, which offers an opportunity to develop interdisciplinary methods to better achieve the goals of medical education.
