Abstract. The goal of the article is to study the English prototypical constructions “and yes/yeah, and no” and their translations in some European languages, to confirm the hypothesis about their calquing and recognition of calques in recipient languages as internationalisms. The material for the study consists of texts collected from various internet sources (websites, blogs, social networks), electronic databases (Integrum), electronic corpora (Sketch Engine, Russian National Corpus), but absent, not recorded in explanatory or special dictionaries. Research methods are verification of calqued discourse markers (DM) in some languages using linguistic experiment and a survey of the expert community, native speakers of the studied languages, to check the degree of commonness/ frequency of use of DM in specific languages. Research conclusions: the analysis carried out proved the calqued nature of equivalents and the need to collect language material for conducting research both within specific languages and in a comparative aspect.
