Tiivistelmä
The growing demand for tailored ways to interact with technology in daily life has driven the need for solutions that can integrate digital functionality into the physical world. This thesis investigates the potential of passive ultra-high frequency (UHF) radio frequency identification (RFID) technology as a customizable platform for human-technology interaction (HTI). By integrating inexpensive, battery-free RFID tags into clothing, objects, and environments, a system was developed that enables the detection of gestures and body movements to trigger a range of outputs, such as media playback, gaming interactions, and communication with microcontrollers, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and computers. Practical evaluations were conducted in daily environments to assess the system's usefulness. The culmination of this work is the launch of RFID Interaction System as a proof-of-concept level system, demonstrating its capability to transform physical spaces into interactive interfaces.
