Tiivistelmä
This thesis explores the challenges and risks associated with NMS utilizing SNMPv3, with a specific focus on addressing burst-of-events scenarios. Burst-of-events, characterized by sudden spikes in network activity or data influx, can pose significant obstacles to the efficiency and stability of SNMPv3-based monitoring and control systems. Through in-depth analysis and practical experimentation, this research investigates the complexities surrounding SNMPv3-based monitoring and control, identifying potential bottlenecks and scalability issues that may impede system performance. The study aims to develop effective strategies and methodologies for mitigating the impact of burst-of-events scenarios on SNMPv3-based NMS, thereby enhancing system resilience and reliability. By providing valuable insights and practical solutions, this thesis contributes to the advancement of network administration practices, offering guidance for optimizing performance and ensuring the robustness of SNMPv3-based infrastructures in dynamic and unpredictable network environments.
