Tiivistelmä
The global industrial environment and changing needs of the customers drives the need for the flexible and competitive manufacturing. To steer change, the management and individuals need to be engaged to the evolution which is the driving force to maintain the capabilities to stay in the head of the competition. The change towards desired goals in the case company requires an extensive change program which this study is related to.
The aim of this study is to understand and make model to steer the change in large Finnish company which serves its customers globally in the field of heavy industry. The object is to find the best way to implement asset management system and new operational asset management policies into the factories around the globe and examine the factors and elements that affects the implementation of the asset management. This study is following the previously made business value assessment and current state analysis which underlined the need for the change and the problems that the implementation project is going to face in the future. The master’s thesis is combination of qualitive and quantitative study methods which produces information for the company what things needs to be considered when leading transformational change, attitudes to succeed in the implementation and initially what would be the best strategy to implement the system globally.
As a result of the thesis a flowchart of key elements and dependencies and an implementation master plan were created which considers the tasks that has to be done before implementation can be successful and the order in which to make the implementation to get the highest benefits out of the new asset management system. The flowchart and the master plan acts as a guideline and a checklist what needs to be done in which order. The implementation master plan is based on the flowchart to map the global rollout timeline in context of the master head development program. In the company extensive study like this haven’t been made on the topic of asset management or even change management which allows the company to elevate the knowledge on the transformational change projects and implementation projects in the future.
