Суффиксы -ова-, -ева-, -изова-, -ирова-, -изирова- в глагольной неологизации 2000–2020 гг.

Abstract

The paper is devoted to the study of the processes of verbal neologization from 2000 to 2020. The material is non-prepositional verbs with suffixes -ова-, -ева-, -ирова-, -изова-, and -изирова-. The main material is taken from the forthcoming dictionary Neologisms in the 21th century: Verbs (about 1000 verbal neolexemes) edited by T. Butseva. The number of studied verbs is 66 new verbs or 6.6% of the total vocabulary of this dictionary. Taking into account the degree of usualization of new suffixal verbs, 207 verbs were formed by adding prefixes and 64 verbs were produced with postfixes. The significance of the study is statement of research difficulties of new verbs identifying, largely due to its relative scarcity in the neological stream, as well as the lag in its vocabulary fixation. The research problem of the paper is to demonstrate the differentiation of suffixal verbs which were formed inside the Russian language system and verbal borrowings. Russian new verbs are described against the background of the history of those suffixes in the Russian language. On such a historical and linguistic basis, we strive 1) to analyse the productivity of these formants in recent decades, 2) to explain the spelling variability, 3) to describe the word-formation synonymy, 4) to fix their semantic and stylistic features, 5) to determine the degree of assimilation in Russian, 6) to reveal the word-formation potency of new suffixally-formed verbs. The aim of the paper is to present the verbal neologisms of the “newest” period, formed with the suffixes -ова-, -ева-, -ирова-, -изова-, and -изирова-, giving their complex characteristics, showing dynamics of the neological process through the involvement of these verbs in word-formation processes. At the end of the paper, conclusions are made briefly. The research methods are described as word-building, comparative, classification, etymological as well as definitional approaches.
